World Chain Unveils New Scaling Technology Designed to Speed Up Validation Without Bigger Hardware

Making blockchains faster has usually meant asking validators to do more work. World Chain wants to change that.

The Ethereum Layer-2 network has become the first production blockchain to deploy streamed EIP-7928 block access lists, a new approach that allows validators to begin verifying transactions while blocks are still being assembled instead of waiting for the finished block to arrive.

The feature will go live on World Chain Mainnet on August 17 and is designed to tackle one of blockchain's biggest technical challenges: increasing throughput without making it more expensive to run a validator.

Scaling Without Raising the Hardware Bar

As blockchain activity grows, validators are typically expected to process larger blocks using increasingly powerful hardware.

Over time, that can make running a node more expensive, concentrating validation among operators with greater computing resources. World Chain's implementation approaches the problem differently.

Scaling Ethereum's Future

The launch reflects a broader challenge facing Ethereum and Layer-2 networks. Demand for cheaper transactions continues rising across stablecoin payments, decentralized finance, identity and AI applications.

Improving throughput is only part of the equation. The bigger challenge is doing so without making blockchain participation more expensive.

By allowing validators to verify transactions while blocks are still being built, World Chain believes it can increase network capacity without sacrificing one of blockchain's core principles: keeping validation accessible enough that anyone can independently verify the chain.
