Think You Can Beat AI at Crypto Predictions? Gate and XYO Want to Find Out

Crypto traders spend all day making market calls. Gate AI and XYO are about to start keeping score.

The two companies have teamed up on XYO Crypto Cards, a daily prediction game that pits users against an artificial intelligence model to see who is better at predicting crypto price movements.

Unlike traditional prediction markets such as Polymarket, players aren't buying contracts based on the probability of an event. Instead, they make direct calls on whether cryptocurrencies will move up or down and compare their results against Gate AI and other players.

Every prediction is recorded on XYO Layer One before the outcome is known, creating a permanent record of who actually got the market right.

Three Coins, 24 Hours, One Prediction

Each day, XYO randomly selects three cryptocurrencies from a defined pool of assets listed on Gate.

Gate AI makes its predictions, while players receive the same three assets and have 24 hours to decide whether each will move higher or lower. Players also assign the assets to different multiplier slots that affect their final score.

Once the prediction window closes, Gate's real-time market data determines the results.

“XYO Crypto Cards gives everyone a simple and engaging way to participate in market prediction,” said Arie Trouw, co-founder and CEO of XYO. “By combining AI technology with XYO Layer One’s verification infrastructure, we are creating a new type of interactive digital asset experience.”

The blockchain plays an important role in making the competition verifiable.

Predictions are written to XYO Layer One before the market moves, creating a timestamped record that can later be checked against the final outcome. That makes it considerably harder for anyone to boast about their winning calls while quietly forgetting the ones they got wrong.

Gate Is Going Deeper Into Predictions

Crypto Cards marks Gate's third major move into prediction products this year.

In March, Gate became the first centralized crypto exchange to integrate Polymarket directly into its platform. It followed that in July with Event Contracts, which allow users to predict short-term crypto price movements.

Crypto Cards adds AI to that strategy.

Gate AI generates the model's daily market predictions using infrastructure that provides commercial customers with access to more than 200 large language models. Gate's Model Context Protocol supplies the live market data used to settle each round.

“At Gate US, we believe AI will play an increasingly important role in shaping the future of digital assets, not simply through individual features, but by enabling more intelligent connections between users, information, and digital asset ecosystems,” said Laura Liu, COO of Gate US.

The launch comes as prediction markets are becoming a much larger part of crypto trading.

Kalshi, Polymarket and Polymarket US generated a combined $50.59 billion in trading volume during July, setting a new monthly record. Bernstein expects the broader prediction market to reach roughly $240 billion in volume this year and potentially $1 trillion annually by 2030.

Putting AI's Crypto Calls on the Record

Crypto Cards also gives XYO a practical use case for the data-focused Layer One it launched in September 2025.

XYO has been building decentralized physical infrastructure since 2018 and says its broader network now includes more than 10 million nodes and has processed over 100 billion data queries.

Rather than building another blockchain primarily around financial transactions, XYO Layer One was designed to create verifiable records around data.

Crypto Cards applies that idea to market predictions: the AI makes its call, the human makes theirs, and the blockchain records the evidence before either knows what happens next.

Gate AI and XYO say they are already exploring additional applications combining artificial intelligence, market intelligence and blockchain infrastructure.

For now, Crypto Cards poses a much simpler question to traders: Can you actually predict crypto better than AI?
