MoonPay Becomes First Crypto Company to Integrate Cash App Pay
By Lidia Yadlos
Buying crypto usually means choosing a payment method, verifying your identity, switching between apps and confirming the transaction. MoonPay is removing another step from that process.
The company has become the first and only cryptocurrency platform approved to support Cash App Pay, allowing eligible U.S. customers to buy digital assets instantly using their Cash App balance. Once connected, purchases are completed entirely within MoonPay's checkout flow with a single tap, eliminating redirects, extra logins and repeated authentication.
The integration also extends across MoonPay's partner network, enabling Cash App Pay on platforms including Trust Wallet, MetaMask, Ledger, BitPay, Uniswap, Bitcoin.com, Tangem, LOBSTR, Edge and Moonshot.
Expanding the Ways People Buy Crypto
The launch continues MoonPay's strategy of adding mainstream payment methods before much of the industry.
The company was among the first crypto platforms to integrate PayPal and Venmo for digital asset purchases. Customers can also pay using Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank transfers and a range of local payment networks depending on their region.
By adding Cash App Pay, MoonPay gains access to one of the most widely used consumer finance apps in the United States, giving users another familiar way to move from traditional money into digital assets.
"Cash App is where tens of millions of Americans already manage their money," said Ivan Soto-Wright, CEO and co-founder of MoonPay.
"This integration means that those users can access the digital asset ecosystem, funded instantly from an app they already know and trust. We couldn't be more excited to partner with Cash App to make that a reality."
Morgan Kuntze, Global Partnerships Lead at Block, Cash App's parent company, said the partnership is designed to give customers more flexibility at checkout.
"We're proud to bring Cash App Pay to MoonPay and offer our customers a seamless, familiar payment experience at checkout," Kuntze said.
"While bitcoin remains at the core of our digital asset strategy, we want to give customers choice and flexibility wherever and however they choose to pay."
Building Consumer Payment Infrastructure
The partnership also highlights the growing overlap between fintech payment networks and crypto infrastructure.
MoonPay now serves more than 30 million customers across 180 countries and powers on- and off-ramps, trading, commerce and stablecoin infrastructure for more than 1,700 enterprise partners worldwide.
The company has also built one of the broadest regulatory footprints in the industry. It holds a New York BitLicense and a New York Limited Purpose Trust Charter, alongside MiCA authorization across the European Union and registrations in the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.
As traditional payment providers continue opening their networks to digital assets, integrations like Cash App Pay are making cryptocurrency purchases increasingly resemble everyday online shopping.
