GoMining Expands Free Crypto Education After Attracting 740,000+ Learners

More than 740,000 people have started a course through GoMining Academy. Now the Bitcoin mining platform is expanding its education program beyond mining with a free course covering the wider crypto ecosystem.

The new eight-lesson “Blockchain and Crypto” course is designed for complete beginners and covers blockchain, cryptocurrencies, wallets, private keys, smart contracts, stablecoins, NFTs and the technology behind digital assets.

It is the third free course offered through GoMining Academy and includes approximately 80 minutes of video content, with no previous crypto knowledge required.

GoMining says more than 194,000 learners have already completed at least one of its Academy courses. Its existing educational content has received more than 105,000 ratings, averaging 4.8 out of 5.

From Bitcoin Mining to the Wider Crypto Market

GoMining Academy's previous educational material has focused heavily on GoMining itself and Bitcoin mining. The latest course is considerably broader.

The lessons begin with why blockchain technology was created and how decentralized networks operate before moving into the differences between cryptocurrencies and traditional money.

Students are introduced to Proof of Work and Proof of Stake, Bitcoin and altcoins, stablecoins, smart contracts, coins and tokens, NFTs, wallets and private keys.

The course also explores where blockchain technology can be useful outside of currency and, importantly, where using a blockchain may not make sense.

Other lessons address some of the industry's risks and controversies, including the energy requirements of cryptocurrency mining, the dangers associated with losing or exposing private keys and lessons from the rise and fall of the NFT market.

That gives beginners more than a glossary of crypto terminology. The course is designed to provide enough context to understand how the technology works and some of the trade-offs involved in using it.

Free Lessons and a Certificate

All eight lessons can be consumed as video, text or audio. Video subtitles are available in English, Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Russian.

Each lesson ends with two questions testing the material covered. Students who complete the course can then take a 10-question final exam, with at least eight correct answers required to pass.

Those who pass receive a course completion certificate. Anyone can access and read the lessons without creating a GoMining account. An account is only required to save progress, take the final exam and receive the certificate.

The course is aimed at newcomers as well as people who already own cryptocurrency but want a better understanding of what is happening behind their wallets and tokens.

For GoMining, the Academy also creates an educational entry point into a much larger ecosystem. The company now serves more than 5.5 million users and ranks among the world's top 10 Bitcoin mining entities by hashrate, according to GoMining.

Its products have expanded beyond tokenized Bitcoin mining to include crypto payments, yield products, BTC-backed borrowing and its Miner Wars game.

With hundreds of thousands of people already using its educational platform, the new course gives GoMining an opportunity to reach users before they ever decide whether to mine, trade or otherwise participate in crypto.
